Annual Parish Family Picnic on Labor Day (1 September 2025) on the grounds of the church and the Parish Center. Come for the fun activities, games, events, and shopping opportunities we all enjoyed last year which we will repeat again this year.  Last chance for volunteer signups, see the link above. Bakers are needed for the country store for the Labor Day Picnic. If you can help, see the bulletin for details.
 
This weekend we will have a special collection for emergency humanitarian relief for the suffering Christians in Gaza. Your donations will provide medical, psychological, material, and pastoral care. These resources will be utilized to support the relief efforts for those affected by the ongoing crisis in Gaza.
The second collection next weekend will benefit the Catholic University of America.

SAVE THE DATE: The following events are coming up. Please make note on your calendar and watch for further information in our bulletin, on our website or in future Flocknotes!!
 
Scheduled Monthly Events:
  • All-day and all-night Adoration is available every First Friday with Saturday devotions on the First Saturdays of the month. Next weekend we will offer All day and all-night Adoration.
  • Young Adults gather for coffee and breakfast the first Sunday of the month after the 9:30am Mass every month. Join them on September 7th for coffee and breakfast.
  • Family Adoration is normally offered every third Saturday of the month starting at 10:00am in the new churchFamily Adoration will be available September 20th. 
  • Diaper, Wipes and Formula will be collected during the weekend of the fourth Sunday of the month and donations can be left in the foyer of the Parish Center.
  • The second collection on the third Sunday of the month is for debt reduction
  • Food Pantry donation bags are usually given out the first weekend of the month with the collection through the second Sunday at 1:00pm. Blue bag distribution is this weekend.
  • Martha’s Table4th Sunday Sandwich Collection will be on the fourth Sunday, only from 1-3 PM.Drop off at the back of Farrell Hall (Door 4). Full details at tinyurl.com/MTSandwiches

  • TMIY, That Man is You, will start their Fall program on Saturday, September 13th in St. Joseph’s Hall from 7:15am to 8:30am or Thursday evenings from 7:15pm to 8:30pm. See the bulletin for more details.
  • See the attached announcement for the upcoming retreat for women on September 27, 2025 in St. Joseph’s Hall from 9:15am through 4:15pm. 
  • “The Greatest Love Story,” Tuesday, September 16, at 7:00 p.m. in Farrell Hall: Calling all men for faith formation, food, and fellowship! Join us for “The Greatest Love Story” on Tuesday, September 16, 7:00 p.m. in Farrell Hall. The program will include a viewing of Father Mike Schmitz’s speech during the 2024 National Eucharistic Congress titled “The Greatest Love Story” followed by breakout discussion groups.   (Hosted by Knights of Columbus Council 8600).
  • The Olivewood Group will be at our church the weekend of September 20-21. Help support Christians in the Holy Land.
  • Are you a woman who wants to carve time out to intentionally read the Bible, grow in your relationship with God, and form meaningful friendships in the parish? Consider joining the upcoming morning or evening Walking with Purpose Bible Study on the book of Ephesians that will begin October 9th. For more information, see the bulletin next week.

Moving Foward

Monday, September 15th is the Feast of Our Lady of Sorrows, our parish feast day. We will have many events for which you may want to participate!! At the feast day Masses, we will recite the consecration prayer after every Mass. Mass times will be 6:30am, 9:15am and 7:00pm in the church. The 40 Hours of Devotion will begin after the 7:00pm Mass and Adoration will continue all night Monday and Tuesday. 40 Hours will end before the 9:15am Mass on Wednesday. Sign up will be available soon.
 
The weekend before the feast day (September 13 & 14), the Knights will offer Spaghetti Dinner after the 5:00pm Saturday Mass. Pancake Breakfast will be offered after the 7:30am and 9:30am Masses. Come enjoy the fellowship and great food!!
 
After the 9:15am Mass on Monday, the Feast Day, the Women’s Group will offer brunch in Farrell Hall
