Youth Ministry will have a sign-up table outside of all the Sunday (and Saturday Vigil) Masses this weekend. Stop by and see what is going on in Youth Ministry.
Blue Bags will be collected through Sunday at 1:00pm in the Parish Center foyer.
The second collection next weekend will be applied to our debt for the church building.
This weekend, the Knights will host a Spaghetti Dinner after the 5:00pm Mass on Saturday and a Pancake Breakfast after the 7:30am and 9:30am Masses. Come enjoy the food and fellowship.
On Sunday January 12th, from 4:00pm to 6:00pm, the Italian Heritage Society of St. Mary of Sorrows will have an Epiphany (La Befana) celebration in Farrell Hall in the Parish Center. This get together is an Italian style potluck Sunday family meal as we hold onto our Christmastime celebration a little longer. Please check the bulletin to see what you can bring and we can enjoy good food with some festive Mandolin music and discussion of the La Befana traditions in Italy.
Bingo will be played on January 18th with food being served starting at 6:00pm. Come to Farrell Hall for dinner and bingo. Proceeds will benefit our Preschool. If you would like information on St. Ambrose Catholic School, a representative will be available outside after the 9:30am and 11:30am Masses next weekend to answer questions.

1/23/2025: Life Fest 2025 7:00 pm-9:45 pm; doors open at 6:00pm (Eagle Bank Arena) –
Held right across the street on GMU’s campus!!! This is an annual Diocesan pro-life event geared toward our youth with adoration, prayer, great speakers, live music, and a lot of fun!! Open to 6th-12th graders! In addition to Jonathan + Mary Catherine, we will have VIRTUS trained volunteers able to drive to and from Saint Mary of Sorrows and chaperoning at the event. 1/24/2025: National March for Life (Washington DC) –

SAVE THE DATE: The following events are coming up. Please make note on your calendar and watch for further information in our bulletin, on our website or in future Flocknotes!!
- Anointing of the sick will be offered on the last Sunday of the month after the 11:30am Mass.
- Bingo will be played on January 18th with food being served starting at 6:00pm. Come to Farrell Hall for dinner and bingo. Proceeds will benefit our Preschool.
- All families with young children are invited to a Family Potluck with games and food on February 1st. More information to come.
- Martha’s Table Sandwich collection is January 26th from 1:00pm to 3:00pm in the back of Farrell Hall.
- Diaper, Wipes and Formula will be collected during the weekend of the fourth Sunday of the month.

The Annual March for Life in Washington, DC is coming up on January 24th. If you are interested in attending and would like to ride a bus, please contact the front office or email frontdesk@stmaryofsorrows.org with your name and phone number, with March for Life DC in the subject line.
Also join the Bishop, dynamic speakers and musicians for Mass and a Night of Praise at Life Fest 2025 at Eagle Bank area from 7:00pm – 9:45pm on Thursday, January 23rd. The Morning Rally (on January 24th) starts at 8:00am-11:00am with Mass. The official Life Fest webpage can be found at lifefestrally.com.
On April 2nd the Virginia March for Life is in Richmond. Please reach out to us if you are interested in attending the March in Richmond.
