This weekend, our second collection will support the annual Mission Cooperative Plan Appeal for our diocese.  Our parish mission organization is ARCHDIOCESE OF MADRAS-MYLAPORE. Please go to https://arlingtonmissions.org/

For a family fun outing, plan to see “Shrek, the Musical” at All Saints July 15-20. See the bulletin for more information. The Youth Group is planning on going on July 16th. Email jonathanr@stmaryofsorrows.org is you are interested in going with the youth.
 
Join Deacon Eric for a talk on St. Augustine and his influence on Pope Leo XIV in Farrell Hall on Thursday, July 17th and Friday, July 18th at 10:00am.
 
In response to the devastation in Texas, the Bishop has requested that the faithful please consider offering financial assistance through the link for Catholic Charities USA.

SAVE THE DATE: The following events are coming up. Please make note on your calendar and watch for further information in our bulletin, on our website or in future Flocknotes!!
 
Scheduled Monthly Events:
  • All-day and all-night Adoration is available every First Friday with Saturday devotions on the First Saturdays of the month. 
  • Young Adults gather for coffee and breakfast the first Sunday of the month after the 9:30am Mass every month. 
  • Family Adoration is normally offered every third Saturday of the month starting at 10:00am in the new churchFamily Adoration will not be available until September.
  • Diaper, Wipes and Formula will be collected during the weekend of the fourth Sunday of the month and donations can be left in the foyer of the Parish Center. 
  • The second collection on the third Sunday of the month is for debt reduction
  • Food Pantry donation bags are usually given out the first weekend of the month with the collection through the second Sunday at 1:00pm. You can drop off your donations this weekend through Sunday at 1:00pm in the Parish Center foyer.
  • Martha’s Table4th Sunday Sandwich Collection will be on the fourth Sunday, only from 1-3 PM.Drop off at the back of Farrell Hall (Door 4). Full details at tinyurl.com/MTSandwichesThe next collection date will be July 27th.
 
Upcoming Events:
  • Labor Day Picnic Meeting will be held on Monday, July 21st at 7pm in Farrell Hall. Everyone is welcome and needed!!
  • Grief Support Group will be offered on Tuesday from 5:00pm-6:30pm starting July 22nd. Contact Kathy Maurer at kathyryn.maurer@compassus.com.
  • OCIA Meet and Greet will be held on Thursday, July 24th and August 28th in St. Joseph’s Hall at 7:00pm for anyone interested in learning more about becoming Catholic.
  • Vacation Bible School is back and will be an exploration with the Vatican Express. The dates are July 28th -August 1st. See the ad below. 
  • Vacation Bible Study Outreach will be collecting baby items for the MaRiH Center through July 20th in the Parish Center foyer.
  • FOCUS missionaries will be visiting our parish the weekend of August 2-3rd.
  • The first meeting for International Night will be on Thursday, August 7th at 7:00pm in Farrell Hall. More information to come.
  • See the attached announcement for the upcoming retreat for women on September 27, 2025 in St. Joseph’s Hall from 9:15am through 4:15pm.

Moving Foward

Preschool and Homeschooling group are bringing an exciting new program called Catechesis of the Good Shepherd (CSG) to our parish. CSG helps children to name, explore and deepen their relationship as the foundation for their lives.
