8th Grade Confirmation Retreat
We are so excited to have your sons and daughters on this confirmation overnight retreat. Offering a retreat for your children is one of my favorite opportunities for ministry. It is an experience unlike any they have had and something I am sure few are familiar with.
Departure and Arrival
GIRLS: Please arrive at St. Mary’s by 7:30AM on Saturday, October 14 to drop your daughter off for the confirmation retreat. Please ensure that your daughter is checked in with Mark Stinard, before leaving the parking lot. We will return to St. Mary’s at 3:00PM on Sunday, October 15.
BOYS : Please arrive at St. Mary’s by 7:30AM on Saturday, October 21 to drop your son off for the confirmation retreat. Please ensure that your son is checked in with Mark Stinard, before leaving the parking lot. We will return to St. Mary’s at 3:00PM on Sunday, October 22.
- Sleeping bag
- Clothes (warm, comfortable, must follow RE guidelines)
- Shoes (we will be outside and they could possibly get dirt on them)
- A snack to share (bag of chips, pretzels, cookies, etc.)
- Cell Phone
- Music Players
- Video Game Systems
***We will collect ALL cell phones at the beginning of the trip (this is in accordance with OPCYP policy) and will hold them until we return on Sunday. Teens can use the adults’ phones to call home if necessary. We recommend that your teen leaves their cell phone at home. Please help us to enforce this policy. Thank you!
Medication: If your child has any medical needs, they should be noted on the permission form. ALL medicine must be held by the adult chaperones on the trip. This includes all prescribed and over-the-counter medications (ie: Epi pens, Advil, Tylenol, Benadryl, Allegra, etc.)
Cost: $100.00. Checks can be made out to St. Mary of Sorrows, with Confirmation Retreat in the memo line.
Permission Form: The permission form and payment must be turned in by Sunday, September __ at the latest. You may turn them in to the front desk with Attn: Mark Stinard.
