We are encouraged by St Paul to sing \u201chymns psalms and spiritual songs.\u201d The reforms of the Second Vatican Council revived this ministry. The ministry is envisioned to assist the assembly in singing the mass, especially the Ordinary of the Mass (Kyrie, Gloria, Holy Holy, Lamb of God, etc.).
